Yesterday I was talking with one of my students about information overload.
The fact that it is very hard to keep track of all the things you read and watch every day.
Think about it for a second…
The amount of information that you consume in the form of YouTube videos, podcasts, books, reels, blog articles…
Versus the amount of information that you actually remember.
Let alone the percentage that you really apply in your life.
I told him that this has always been a problem for me, consuming too much information but having difficulty organizing it all.
I even take notes, try to create folders, but it quickly gets messy, cluttered, and lost forever.
So he told me about one topic that was new for me:
Personal Knowledge Management.
More specifically, he recommended the work of Tiago Forte,
Who wrote a book called Building a Second Brain.
He talks extensively about productivity and methods to organize all the information you consume in your life.
I found it really interesting and decided to give it a try!
I already tested many productivity systems and didn’t stick to any of them.
But some of the ideas from the book seem very efficient!
Right now I’m reading the book and reorganizing all my notes and resources following the methods.
Let’s see how it goes.
I will come back with updates in a future post!
Great Friday to everyone!
