April 13th, 2024 – The importance of tracking habits

I always tried to be a more consistent person and even tried to track habits before, create routines, and stuff.

But I couldn’t stick to it.

Every time I had that initial sprint and then failed once, then twice in a row, then things started to become harder to come back from and I eventually would give up on that new habit, behavior, or project.

But at the beginning of the year, I decided that it would be different.

I chose six habits that I wanted to stick to no matter what, and if I failed, I would pretend nothing happened and would come back the next day, simple as that.

And of course, I tracked it in a physical notebook (just paint the square with a pen the day I did the habit and kept blank the day I didn’t).

It is impressive how that kept me accountable and I just created huge momentum.

This was in January, in the middle of the month I added one, so seven, in March I added three more so ten, and I have been really consistent.

I am going to share more details like the pictures of the notebook and which habits in other days.

But today I just wanted to talk about how important it is to track things somehow and keep you accountable! Let me know in the comments if you ever tried to do something similar and how was your experience with it.

Cheers guys, see you tomorrow!

Ah, by the way, today I almost failed already on the second day of the blog haha but it was my day off at my day job and I kind of focused on other things, but tomorrow I document more of the day and how my projects are going!
